Bay To Breakers 2005

Bay To Breakers is an annual footrace across San Francisco. Some people actually run the race but many thousands participate in more creative ways.

Unfortunately this year, I did not get a single picture of myself at the event!

The starting line. I got up at 6:00 (after going to bed at 2:30) to make it here by 8:00.

Jeannies and referees.

The infamous tiki bar.

Harlem Globetrotters.

Our cart, the Boop Boop Boop group. It is so named because contestants are required to make an electronic "boop boop boop" sound as the wheel spins, just like on TV. Contestants win random beverages.

These people made a fully mobile putt-putt course.

Salmon swim upstream.

And we're only one mile through! 70 minute pace, not sure if we can sustain that...

The horses on this carousel actually move up and down!

This Wright Flyer had rotating propellers.

Look at all the people!

This train comes complete with engine, boxcar, and caboose.

Mike as, once again, Tigger.

A nearly-life-size Titanic.

I don't really know what was going on here. Mike and Cliff look on in the background.

Politsky and his main lady Blaire.

Mile 7 -- almost there!

We reached the finish line about 2:00, for a total time of six hours! Not bad. Unfortunately the finish sign itself was gone before we got there, so I couldn't get a picture.
